James Nye / engineer & worldbuilder

Systems.
Worlds.
Possibilities.

I build the infrastructure that keeps things running.
And the worlds that make you forget they are.

01 / Selected work

From bare metal
to boundless worlds.

A few things from the workshop.
Each a different kind of rabbit hole.

DevOps / Infrastructure01

Order from complexity.

A self-hosted Kubernetes estate. GitOps, automated delivery, and the infrastructure behind the ARCHMAGE ecosystem.

TalosKubernetesArgo CDGitOps
Inside archmage-cluster

Four Talos nodes, declarative Kubernetes configuration, and Argo CD reconciliation. Kustomize and encrypted secrets keep infrastructure reproducible; automated builds carry changes from commit to deployment.

Game development / Unreal Engine02

One world. Every scale.

From commanding adventuring parties to stepping into a character’s boots. A tactical RPG exploring the space between strategy and action.

Unreal Engine 5C++Tactical RPG
Inside Tactical Battler

An Unreal Engine 5 project built around three connected scales: strategic party management, tactical encounters, and direct character control. C++ provides the core systems, with Blueprints supporting iteration.

AI tooling / Tabletop worlds03

Let the adventure live on.

Eternal Bard turns Discord tabletop sessions into transcripts, summaries, and searchable lore. Be in the moment. Keep the story.

Design systems / Creative technology04

A world that feels connected.

The visual language of ARCHMAGE. Shared sigils, a deliberate palette, and an arcane identity connecting the tools, services, and archives.

Brand systemSVGCreative code
Inside the brand system

A shared source of truth for the estate: red-on-black tokens, monospace typography, arcane sigils, and reusable SVG assets. The same identity carries across services, bots, and the web.

02 / A little playable proof

Less talk.
More play.

A side-scrolling spell-slinging survival roguelike.

03 / The builder

Engineer by trade.
Worldbuilder
by nature.

James Nyeaka archmage

The best part of technology?
Making something that didn’t exist before.

I’m James — a DevOps engineer, game developer, and immersive technology builder. I’m just as at home untangling a deployment pipeline as I am building a combat system or exploring what’s possible in VR.

ARCHMAGE is where those interests meet: a living collection of systems, experiments, and worlds. Some keep the lights on. Some take you somewhere else. All of them come from the same curiosity.

Unreal Engine / Rendering / C++

Photographing darkness.

How ChromaSense turns a camera into a light meter — and the five rendering hurdles between the idea and something shippable.
